It happened about 11:30 Thursday night on the 1400 block of South 52nd Street.
Investigators say the gunman took aim at 24-year-old Christian White who was sitting behind a window in a house.
The killer fired repeatedly into the window, wounding the man several times.
Medics pronounced him at the scene just before midnight.
So far, police have not indicated if they have any motives or suspects in mind.
