Woman convicted in fortuneteller's murder

SANTA ANA, Calif. Tanya Jamie Nelson was convicted of killing Ha Smith, 52, and Smith's 23-year old daughter, Anita Vo in April, 2005. She is due to be sentenced March 26th.

Prosecutors argued Nelson plotted to kill Smith because the fortune teller would not give her a reading that included the resumption of an extra marital affair Nelson had with her husband's brother.

They told the jury that Nelson even tried to get her own son, George Nguyen, to kill her lover's wife after the affair ended.

Nelson, who had lived in Orange County moved to North Carolina where she met Phillipe Zamora. She convinced Zamora to return to Westminister with her.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder in connection with the killing of the fortune teller and her daughter.
