The fire began around 12:30 p.m. on Holly Road near Sweet Briar Road.
The victim, a 60-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 80 percent of his body.
There is no word yet on any other injuries or what sparked the blaze.
Firefighters brought the flames under control about 15 minutes later.
