Golfer Fuzzy Zoeller stirring up interest in vodka

13abc's Tony Geftos spotted one golfer's advance team already in town. A rep for Fuzzy Zoeller is already staying, eating, and spending money in Toledo, and she's also trying to make a sale.

Zoeller is a fan favorite, a household name in golf...and a vodka drinker. And this vodka's got Fuzzy's name written all over it.

"It's an American-made product. It got a 94 rating and a gold medal," says representative Shannon Tisch.

Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka came out two years ago, according to Tisch.

She's in town to promote the adult beverage and the senior golfer two weeks before the US Senior Open, which is returning to Inverness for the first time in eight years.

Along with the tournament will come a huge economic boost for hotels, restaurants and, yes, bars.

Tisch says, "What I'm here to do this week is basically get with our distributors, make placements, plan promotions, get things amped up and ready for the tournament."

Fuzzy may have taken a cue from fellow golfer Arnold Palmer. His lemonade-iced tea blend has been a non-alcoholic hit.

Whether you're driving for business or for pleasure, Fuzzy's tag line is: "Trust your caddy and please drink responsibly."
