The attack happened around 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the area of 3rd and Pusey streets.
Police say the male victim was attacked by four other males. At least one of them was wielding a sword.
The injured male suffered extensive lacerations and was transferred to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Police are investigating and following up on leads.
No one is in custody at this time.
