Dedroona Govan, 26, was arrested late Thursday night at a motel outside Wilmington.
Govan was wanted for the stabbing and slashing of a 24-year-old woman in the unit block of East 10th Street after an argument.
Police say Govan had been in hiding with family ever since.
The victim was last reported to be hospitalized in stable condition.
Govan is being held on $20,000 bail.
