Federal agents from the Pentagon spent the day inside NP Precision's machine shop Thursday morning, documenting evidence they will be hauling away.
NP Precision is a long time Defense Department sub-contractor specializing in transmissions, rotors and landing gears for the aerospace, defense and weapons systems for the U.S. Army, Navy and private contractors like Boeing.
Some of NP Precision's projects included parts for the controversial V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft.
Workers at other companies in the same Folcroft industrial park watched in awe as the raid began just before the end of the morning rush hour.
NP Precision, known as Tura Machine roughly 25 years ago, got into hot water with the Pentagon. The owner, Kenneth Narzikul, was convicted in a kickback scheme with other contractors and for paying hush money to a potential witness.
Narzikul, who lives in Media, is still part owner of NP Precision. He did not return Action News' phone calls Thursday, and neither did his long time attorney. NP Precision's co-owner Nick Emper hung up on us.
The Army Criminal Investigation Command issued a statement that confirms NP Precision is under investigation, but added the following: "The existence of an investigation does not necessarily in and of itself imply guilt or innocence."
