Frozen hydrants hinder crews in Lower Providence fire

Firefighters battled cold temperatures as flames and smoke spread through a Lower Providence, Pennsylvania house early Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. on the 1200 block of Pawlings Road.

Crews arrived to heavy flames showing from the first and second floors to the attic area of a large home.

The blaze quickly went to two alarms.

Many of the fire hydrants are frozen and firefighters used tanker trucks to get the water supply.

So far, there is no word on any injuries or what sparked the blaze.
