Former Eagle Garry Cobb running for Congress

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - March 31, 2014

Garry Cobb is among the candidates who have filed petitions to represent New Jersey ahead of Monday's 4 p.m. deadline to file.

The Republican is seeking office in the Democrat-dominated 1st District near Philadelphia.

The resignation earlier this year of Democratic Rep. Rob Andrews means it will be one of three open seats this fall.

Cobb is facing Lee Lucas in the Republican primary. On the Democratic side, state Sen. Don Norcross is running against Logan Mayor Frank Minor and Frank Broomell Jr.

Others open seats are central New Jersey's 12th District and southern New Jersey's 3rd, where former Eagle Jon Runyan is not seeking re-election.
