ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Penn. -- A modern day Bonnie and Clyde are on the run from authorities in Pennsylvania, ABC affiliate WTAE-TV reports.

Police in Elizabeth Township resumed the search this morning for the teenagers from Ohio. They are wanted in connection with an armed robbery Thursday morning which left a police officer with a serious road rash after he was dragged down the street by the stolen getaway car.

The teens are Rose May, 15, of Sycamore, Ohio, and Triston Kindle, 16, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. They are said to have robbed a P&W Mini Mart in Elizabeth Township with a shotgun and a stolen truck.

"We got a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde out here from Ohio," police Chief David Kerestes told WTAE-TV. "I can't even imagine how they ended up in little Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania."

Patrolman Jason Shallenburger responded to a call from the mini mart just before 2 a.m. and gave chase on foot when the robber fled for the back door. He made it to the truck and grabbed the door handle, but the teens then took off down the street, dragging Shallenburger through the parking lot and onto State Highway 48 before he let go.

Police found the getaway vehicle abandoned in a nearby wooded area. They have been searching for the couple on foot, in the air and on ATV. Police are even searching abandoned mines for the two teens.

Officers have recovered cash and some clothing, but the couple is still on the run.
