CHESTNUT HILL (WPVI) -- Brad Amerman was just weeks away from graduating from Chestnut Hill College, and getting on with his life. His sudden death Wednesday morning came as devastating news to the campus community.
Police say a maintenance worker found the lifeless body of 22-year-old Amerman around 8:00 this morning. He was lying on a couch in the rotunda of St. Joseph Hall.
Medics raced to the scene but were unable to revive him.
The College says Amerman was a senior business major. He's from Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, located outside Reading, and lived off campus.
The College released a short statement saying, "The events of today have left our campus community shocked and full of sadness for Bradley David Amerman and his family."
It's a sentiment echoed by his classmates who say a pall has been cast over a day usually filled with fun - the last day of classes before spring break.
Philadelphia police are investigating. They're waiting for autopsy results to determine what led to this untimely death of a promising young business major on the verge of graduating.
However, they do say Amerman had prescription drugs in his possession.
