1 dead after SUV, dump truck collide in Hockessin

HOCKESSIN, Del. (WPVI) -- A 41-year-old woman is dead after an SUV and dump truck collided in Hockessin, Delaware.

The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday on Route 48 in the area of Wilmington Road.

The crash sent the dump truck down the side of a small embankment. The 37-year-old operator of the dump truck was taken to Christiana Hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not released the woman's name.

The roads were wet at the time of the crash, but there was no word on of police suspect weather played a role.

The crash remains under investigation.
