CLAYMONT, DEL. (WPVI) -- Authorities have released the name of a man killed in Claymont, Delaware on Friday.
It was just after midnight when 57-year-old Ralph James of Philadelphia lost control of the Lincoln MKS.
Police say James was traveling on the off-ramp from I-495 northbound onto US Rt. 13 (Philadelphia Pike) at a high rate of speed when the vehicle's tires struck the curb.
The Lincoln then continued across the northbound lanes of Philadelphia Pike and struck a raised center concrete median, a DelDOT sign, and a large metal traffic light support pole before overturning onto its roof.
James was thrown from his vehicle, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
