Small fire in Delaware high school, students evacuated

A small fire caused the evacuation of a school in Delaware.

MARSHALLTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Students had to be evacuated after a small fire broke out at a New Castle County high school.



Firefighters were called around 9:22 a.m. Wednesday to Delcastle High School on the 1400 block of Newport Road in Marshallton.



A school spokesperson says the fire was in the locker room of the carpentry area.



There was minimal damage to the school.



Students were allowed back in to the school shortly before 10:00 a.m.



The fire disrupted a busy day at the school as some students were taking state testing, others were making up their SATs and seniors were receiving their caps and gowns.
