NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Two people were hurt when a giant truck tire came bouncing down a road in New Castle, Delaware Tuesday afternoon.
It happened before 1:00 p.m. when the rear tire flew off a tractor-trailer on Route 13 on New Castle Road.
That wheel hit three cars that were stopped at a light in the northbound lanes.
Two people from one of the cars were taken to the hospital to be treated for neck and back pain.
The driver of the tractor-trailer says he only realized he lost the tire after noticing something wrong with his truck.
He pulled over immediately and contacted police.
