FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- It's the hottest dining experience in the city during the summer. And this year's location of Diner en Blanc didn't disappoint.
"This is my first time. I was on the waiting list for two years," said Liz Firsby of Roxborough.
"It's so Philly. Even before I moved here, I knew about the Rocky steps and the Art Museum," said Linda Ciavarelli of Media. "It's such an iconic place."
"Last year we walked all the way down Broad to the Navy Yard, but this is pretty cool," said Brian Wells of Ambler.
In its fifth year, the pop-up picnic, held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, had a record 5,000 people who scored a coveted invite with 30,000 left on the wait list.
"From the first year with 1,300 to see 5,000 is just pretty incredible," said Natanya DiBona. "It's just about community, sharing a meal, and then it turns into an amazing party."
"We have our table, we have our chairs. We also have a picnic basket," said Ebonie Dukes of Roxborough.
People bring their own food and get creative with their décor.
"We try to go with the Parisian theme every year," said Kara Spaulding of Erdenheim, Pennsylvania.
But they all share the same experience.
"It's amazing. Everybody's here and dressed alike and totally into it. It's awesome. I love it," said Ciavarelli.
