Downed tree shuts down Kelly Drive in both directions

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A downed tree has shut down Kelly Drive in both directions in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

It happened before 6:00 a.m. Thursday near Fountain Green Drive after several hours of soaking rain.

Images from the Action Cam broadcast on Action News at 6:00 a.m. showed the tree lying across all lanes of the road.

Traffic was being detoured off the normally busy thoroughfare at Strawberry Mansion Drive and Fountain Green Drive.

Motorist were being urged to seek alternate routes.
