Driver dies after slamming into tree in SW Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man was killed after losing control of his vehicle, and smashing into a parked car and tree in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

December 14, 2106 - Police say a man was killed after losing control of his vehicle, and smashing into a parked car and tree in Southwest Philadelphia.

The man in his 50s was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.

It is unclear on what caused the driver to crash.

Police have not identified the victim.
