EASTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- Investigators revealed more Wednesday about the murder of a man inside a Northampton County motel room earlier this month.

The body of 32-year-old Andrew White was found inside the Quality Inn in Easton.

He'd been shot in the head.

Investigators shared how they caught up with the alleged shooter, 25-year-old Jeffrey Knoble.

They say Knoble called his mother the morning of the murder and told her he needed clothes and was coming to her house.

When he didn't show up, they say Mrs. Knoble got in her car and left.

She spotted her son a few blocks from the home.

He allegedly got into the car and showed his mother a video he'd taken on his cell phone.

"Mrs. Knoble went on to state that Jeffrey told her that he had stripped the male and shot the male in the head. She stated she became scared of her son and dropped him down at 4th and Northampton streets and notified police," Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said.

Jeffrey Knoble was then involved in a standoff with police at his mother's house for several hours before being arrested.

He's charged with murder.

The motive for the crime remains unclear.
