There's a new Facebook app that claims it can change the color of your profile page, but the app is really a virus.[br /][br /]More than 10,000 people around the world have been duped into downloading the malware, according to a [url HREF="http://www.cmcm.com/blog/2014-08-07/348.html[br /]" TARGET="" REL=""]Cheetah Mobile Security blog post[/url].[br /][br /]The Facebook color changer app claims it can change the colors on your layout. When you click on the app, it takes you to a phishing website that asks you to watch a tutorial video. If you agree to watch the video, you then give hackers access to your profiles, letting the app spam all your friends.[br /][br /]If you don't agree to watch the video, the app will then send PC users to a site that tries to download a pornography video player on their computer. Smartphone users are given a warning that their phone is infected with a virus and advises them to download an antivirus app. Both of those apps are also infected with malware.[br /][br /]The good news, it's easy to get rid of the malicious app. If you accessed the color changer app, just go to your Facebook app settings page and delete the app. Cheetah Mobile Security also advises affected users to change their passwords.
