Officer injured after cruiser collides with truck in Hunting Park

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- A police officer responding to a burglary call was injured after her cruiser collided with a pick-up truck in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.

The accident happened before 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Broad and Pike streets.

The officer was taken to Temple University Hospital with minor injuries. She is expected to be okay.

The truck driver was trapped in the vehicle after it landed on its side. He had to be rescued.

He was also taken to Temple with some injuries.

Both the officer and truck driver are in stable condition.
