Firefighters douse fire at industrial plant in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled a blaze at an industrial plant in South Philadelphia.

The fire was reported after 12 p.m. Friday at Philadelphia Energy Solutions near 26th Street and Penrose Avenue.

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed firefighters working to douse flames shooting from an area containing a series of parallel pipes.

Officials tell Action News the fire remained outside the plant. Nothing inside the plant was burned or damaged.

Crews were able to place the situation under control within an hour.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Philadelphia Energy Solutions says the cause of the incident is under investigation.
