The first day of Kwanzaa celebrated

The principle of "Unity" was the focus of the first day of Kwanzaa.

"Afro-One Dance, Drama and Drum Theater" hosted this event Friday night at Unity Hall Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, New Jersey.

It was quite appropriate to be held there, since the principle of "Unity" was the focus of the first day of Kwanzaa.

On Saturday, the second day of Kwanzaa principle is "Self-Determination."

The week-long holiday of African-American heritage runs to New Year's Day.
