A Good Samaritan was struck and killed helping an accident victim in Hamilton Township, Mercer County.

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A Good Samaritan was struck and killed helping an accident victim in Hamilton Township, Mercer County.

Police have identified the person as 54-year-old Leonardo Camacho of Toms River, New Jersey.

The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. Saturday on I-195 eastbound between exits 1 and 2 near Broad Street/Arena Drive.

According to police, a driver lost control after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. The impact caused the vehicle, which was traveling westbound on I-95, to go into the eastbound lanes.

Police say another driver saw the crash and stopped. As he was exiting his vehicle, he was struck and killed by a pickup truck.

The driver in the pickup truck remained at the scene. No charges will be filed against that driver.

The driver struck in the initial crash was not injured.

State police continue to investigate.
