Relaxation is a well-known benefit of meditation, but studies show it can also give your physical health a boost.

One hospital near Boston is using meditation to ease patient fears, soothe worried family members and give staffers a chance for a mid-day recharge.

Meditation is considered an alternative form of therapy for the sick, said to ease pain and even lessen flu symptoms.

And research shows it can also lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety and depression and boost the immune system.

Experts said a session of just 20 minutes can make a big difference.
