NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Three students face charges and another was hospitalized after a bomb threat led to a fight at Newark High School in Delaware.

The disruption began at 7:30 a.m. Friday when school officials received a bomb threat and notified police.

An evacuation was ordered, and students filed out of the school and onto the football field.

Officers inside the school searched for about 2 hours for any sign of an explosive device.

Canine units from Wilmington Police and Delaware State Police were on the scene.

Investigators finally gave the all-clear at 9:55 a.m., and students were allowed back in the building a short time later.

Late Friday evening, a 15-year-old student was arrested for calling in the bomb threat and charged with one count of Terroristic Threatening Causing a Building Evacuation. He was arraigned and released back to the custody of his parents on $5,000 unsecured bail.

However, that was not the only arrest, as a fight broke out out among some of the students who were on the football field during the evacuation.

Officers on the scene had to use pepper spray to gain control of the situation.

Two 16-year-old male students were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Both were released to the custody of their parents.

As these events were unfolding, another student, who was unrelated to the fight, suffered an asthma attack due to the police deployment of the pepper spray.

The student was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment.

Friday's disturbance comes three days after 11 students were arrested after fighting broke out at the same high school.
