HARTLY, Del. (WPVI) -- A Kent County man has been arrested on DUI charges for a 9th time.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday after a trooper was called to a home in the 900 block of Myers Drive for a report of a truck broken down in the driveway.
Police say Dale Guifoil, 51 of Hartly, was attempting to leave a yard sale when a mechanical issue with his truck prevented him from leaving.
A trooper detected an odor of alcohol while interviewing Guifoil at the scene and a DUI investigation ensued.
Guifoil was taken into custody.
Police found eight previous DUI convictions for Guifoil. (07/29/93, 09/07/93, 12/05/94, 02/04/02, 03/10/03, 09/15/04, 09/04/08, and 12/18/09); this arrest would make #9.
Dale Guifoil was charged with Felony DUI (Alcohol), Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription (Oxycodone), Driving While Suspended or Revoked, Failure to Have Insurance in Possession, Fictitious Registration, and Operation of an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,650.00 secured bond.
