ICE says 'targeted operations' are underway in Chicago
Amid fears of mass deportations and immigration raids in Chicago, ICE says it has begun targeted operations in the area.

President Donald Trump took a victory lap at a Las Vegas casino on Saturday after a five days of issuing executive orders on immigration, the economy, DEI and more.

Trump late Friday night stirred up outrage when he blindsided at least 17 inspectors general at multiple federal agencies by firing them in an email from the White House personnel office.

Meanwhile, two more of Trump's picks for his Cabinet -- Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense and Kristi Noem as secretary of Homeland Security -- were sworn in to office on Saturday.

DOD 'will fully execute' Trump's DEI executive order

When asked about how the president's executive order on DEI will affect the military, a Defense Department official told ABC News that the department "will fully execute and implement all directives outlined in the Executive Orders issued by the President."

The latest National Defense Authorization Act already placed some restrictions on DEI roles within DOD, instituting a hiring freeze and capping pay grades, which put the department ahead of other government agencies when it comes to drawing down these offices.

CPS and CTU officials claim ICE agents were denied entry to a school Friday.

The Hamline Elementary School principal said ICE agents arrived at the Back of the Yards school about 11:15 a.m., according to sister station WLS.

The principal said they followed protocols, and did not allow the agents inside.
