KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a suspect who wounded his target and then chased the victim for ten blocks before shooting him to death in South Philadelphia.
The incident began shortly after 11:00 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Crosky Street.
According to police, the suspect opened fire on a 30-year-old man, striking him at least once.
The victim then fled on foot with the gunman in hot pursuit.
The suspect caught up with the victim 10 blocks later, in the 1900 block of Mountain Street.
Police say he fired several more times, hitting the victim in the collarbone, abdomen and buttocks.
Neighbors heard the gunfire and called the police.
Officers rushed the victim was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are still searching for the gunman.
Their is a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
