VIDEO: Philly Jesus arrest goes viral

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Michael Grant, better known as Philly Jesus, and his plight have gone viral after he was arrested this weekend at Dilworth Plaza.

The hashtag #FreePhillyJesus is now trending on Twitter.

The 28-year-old is an ex-drug addict who not only found Jesus, but embodies him -- even down to his clothes -- was arrested on Friday for disorderly conduct and failure to disperse.

He posted a photo of himself on Instagram quoting the bible verse John 15:18, "Haters gonna hate."

He has since been released and now has an attorney.

Philly Jesus said he's just misunderstood. He said he doesn't ask for money, but he does accept tips.
