Building "Energy Star" communities

NORTHERN LIBERTIES (WPVI) -- 15 families will soon have new energy efficient homes in Philadelphia's Northern Liberties section.

The anticipated savings are about the same as removing two average homes from the energy grid.

The builder will also receive more than 7 thousand dollars as part of PECO's Smart New Home Rebates program.

The program awards builders who construct homes that meet energy star standards for energy efficiency.
