Pedestrian struck, killed in Mt. Laurel

MT. LAUREL, N.J. (WPVI) -- A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.

It happened around 5:25 p.m. Sunday along South Church Road between Academy Drive and St. David Drive.

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was travelling north when it struck the victim.

Responding officers tried to resuscitate the man but to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle did stop at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
