1 family member dead, 2 critical in New Castle incident

Police are investigating a series of medical emergencies involving the same family within 24 hours.

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the death of a woman and the hospitalization of two of her family members in New Castle, Delaware.



On Tuesday afternoon paramedics responded to the 400 block of Morehouse Drive where a 79-year-old woman was in cardiac arrest.



The woman was transported to Wilmington Hospital and later pronounced dead.



Then on Wednesday at approximately 4:00 a.m. emergency crews were called to the same address for a report of an unconscious person.



A 79-year-old man was taken from the home and transported to Christiana Hospital where he remains in critical condition.



Later in the day a third call came in for a report of another unconscious person inside the same home.



This time a 58-year-old man was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.



Authorities say the two men are the husband and son of the woman who died on Tuesday.



So far, there is no word on what caused the hospitalization of the two men.



Authorities are investigating the incident.
