At least one person was taken to the hospital.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person was hospitalized following a partial building collapse in Southwest Philadelphia.

The collapse happened around 11:07 a.m. Wednesday on the 1200 block of South 45th Street.

When fire crews arrived they found that there was a partial collapse of a construction site.

According to authorities, a construction crew was doing demolition on a vacant house when a second floor rear wall fell.

Parts of the wall struck a 43-year-old construction crew member.

The worker was transported by private vehicle to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is being treated for a laceration to his right leg and cuts to his upper left arm.

Authorities are investigating.
