1 man dead, 1 critical after shooting in Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- One man is dead, and another is in critical condition, after gunfire erupted in Camden.

It happened in the 600 block of Viola Street at 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Medics rushed a 50-year-old man to Cooper University Hospital with gunshot injuries to his chest and leg.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

A second man was taken to Cooper in a private car.

Sources tell Action News that man was shot multiple times.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

There have been no arrests.
