Arrest made in robbery outside Exton Square Mall

WEST WHITELAND TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police have made an arrest in a robbery outside Exton Square Mall.

The suspect was identified by police as Joseph Ciardelli, 18, of the 1800 block of Strasburg Road in Coatesville.

Investigators say Ciardelli lured the victim to the mall using a Craiglist ad for a cell phone.

Ciardelli met the victim in the mall parking lot around 2:40 p.m.

Police say that's when Ciardelli grabbed the victim's cash and took off.

He got away in a vehicle driven by a woman.

Ciardelli has been charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Conspiracy.

Police are still trying to identify the driver of the vehicle that Ciardelli fled in.
