Boy, 9, taken to hospital after dog bite in Strawberry Mansion

STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- A 9-year-old boy was injured after he was bitten by a dog in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on the 3200 block of Diamond Street.

Police say the child was bitten in the back, and taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

The boy is in stable condition.

The animal was contained by the police.
