Crime Fighters: $20,000 reward offered in murder of Paris Wright

PHILADELPHIA -- Crystal Wright says her son, Paris, was finding his way in adulthood when his life was cut short by two men.

"They had been in the car all day with them," said Wright.

That day Wright says her 21-year-old son was with three others driving around in a minivan. She says she sent a text urging him to come home.

"You shouldn't be riding around with these guys, and you don't know what they are into," said Wright.

Those were her last words to her son.

Police were called to an auto accident at 12:46 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2015, along the 5500 block of North American Street in the city's Olney section.

Officers found Paris dead from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

The driver was also shot, but survived.

Wright says the driver spoke with her about what happened.

"He said, 'Miss Crystal as soon as we got off Rising Sun Avenue, gunshots came from the back of the car and I crashed.' And he said, 'The only thing I can remember, I looked over and Paris was slumped over and I heard them say run, run,' " said Wright.

She says the driver talked to police about the shooting, but didn't make it to court.

"Before the hearing he was gunned down," said Wright.

The City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

"And I know, I know for sure that people know," said Wright. "They scared or they ain't coming forth."
