WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The driver of a tanker truck is recovering after his truck jackknifed on the Blue Route in West Conshohocken.

It happened at 11:45 p.m. Monday on the I-476 off-ramp to I-76 South.

The truck's cab ended up in a ditch and became disabled after the driver, 34-year-old Owen Rankin of Chester, lost control.

Rankin was taken to an area hospital to be treated for leg and back pain.

The ramp was closed for nearly three hours as medics tended to Rankin and crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Police say icy roads do not appear to have been a factor, and that Rankin was simply going too fast on the ramp.
