A passerby notified police and may have prevented a townhouse fire from becoming worse in Gibbsboro, New Jersey.

GIBBSBORO, N.J. (WPVI) -- A passerby notified police and may have prevented a townhouse fire from becoming worse in Gibbsboro, New Jersey.

The fire started around 2:44 a.m. Saturday on the unit block of West Clementon Avenue.

Firefighters arrived and quickly went to work on the flames shooting from the first floor which extended into the upper floors.

There were no residents inside the home injured.

So far, no word on what caused the blaze.
