BLADES, Del. -- Delaware State Police say they're searching for a teen who drove a minivan toward a juvenile probation officer, who shot the van's tire.

Police said in a news release Wednesday morning that the encounter began after Juvenile Probation and Parole officers completed a curfew check at a 15-year-old boy's Seaford home on Tuesday night. A short time later, police say the officers saw the teen driving and called Seaford police, but the teen soon pulled the minivan into a driveway in Blades.

As officers approached, police say the teen drove toward one officer, who fired one shot, striking the van's tire.

The van was found nearby with a flat tire, but the teen and two others ran off. Police say they're preparing to charge the teen with reckless endangering.
