Police: Women steal $96 in diapers, assault employee

Police are searching for these two women in a Family Dollar robbery.

NORTH PHIILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for two suspects who robbed a Family Dollar store in North Philadelphia and assaulted an employee.

It happened just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of West Lehigh Avenue.

Police say two women entered the store and took six packs of Huggie's diapers valued at $96 without paying.

Police say when a 20-year-old store female employee followed the suspects to the parking lot, she was assaulted.

Both suspects then fled in an unknown black four-door vehicle with tinted windows with the license plate covered.

The store employee suffered a cut lip and a lump on her head as a result of the assault.

The first suspect is described as a black female, 45, 5'8, with a medium build, a scar on her head. She was wearing a gray hooded jacket, black sweatpants, and black sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a black female, 25, 5'7, with a thin build, black hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a blue hooded shirt, black tights, and black boots.
