PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The story of one of Philadelphia's most memorable political figures is coming to a South Philadelphia theater.
The play will tell the story of former Philadelphia Police Commissioner and Mayor, Frank Rizzo.
The playwright, Bruce Graham says the play is based on the book "Frank Rizzo: The Last Big Man in Big City America," written by former local political journalist and current ESPN reporter Sal Paolantonio.
Paolantonio gave it high marks saying "they really captured the essence of Frank Rizzo, the essence of the time, community and the importance of Rizzo and what he meant to the city."
The show's opening night is Wednesday and the play continues until November eighth at Christ Church Neighborhood House in Old City.
