SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A group of non-union workers staged a protest Thursday morning at Philadelphia International Airport.

Action News was there as contracted wheelchair attendants, baggage handlers and airplane cleaners staged a rally.

They were supported by union workers from local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union.

The workers were protesting what they say are low wages and unfair labor practices by their employers, Prospect Aviation Services and PrimeFlight Airline Services, which provide services for US Airways and other airlines.

The protest had the appearance of a strike action. Workers formed a picket line, and union members carried signs saying "SEIU 32BJ On Strike."

However, the union is not on strike, and several non-union workers told Action News they were planning to go to work after attending Thursday morning's rally.

No service disruptions were being reported to passengers at the airport.
