ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Allentown City Council is planning to hold a "no-confidence" vote Wednesday afternoon that would call on the mayor to resign.
The motion says that Mayor Ed Pawlowski is no longer an effective leader and can no longer carry out his duties as mayor.
The vote is in response to an FBI investigation into government contracting practices in Allentown.
Since the federal probe began in July, an assistant city solicitor, the former city finance director and the former city controller have pleaded guilty to federal crimes.
Pawlowski has not been charged with a crime.
