Man, 22, struck and killed by vehicle in Olney

OLNEY (WPVI) -- Police say a pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia's Olney section.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of C Street.

Police say the driver had the green light when he hit the 22-year-old man.

The victim was thrown into the air and landed 50 feet away.

He was taken to Einstein hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained on the scene, and the investigation continues.
