CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two DeSales University students were injured and their roommate is under arrest, charged with trying to kill them.
Brendan McMichael of Philadelphia is charged with two counts of attempted homicide.
The incident happened inside Welsh Hall on the campus in Lehigh County.
Court documents state that's where McMichael pulled a knife on his roommates.
The affidavit details a party in McMichael's suite on Saturday night going on into early Sunday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., police received a call from one of McMichael's roommates, Ryan Musselman.
He reported he and another roommate, John McLaughlin, had been attacked. He allegedly said McMichael pulled a knife on the two in their room next to where the party was going on.
It states "Musselman reported at this time, he saw in a mirror's reflection that the defendant was holding a knife, possibly a blue in color folding knife, and was manipulating it in his hand and up his sleeve."
And that's when it got ugly.
According to the court documents, McMichael said, quote, "I'm prepared to kill you both tonight," then lunged across the room, striking one of them in the neck.
According to affidavit that was McLaughlin. He states McMichael went for his throat and sliced his neck.
Musselman is reported to have pulled McMichael off and broke things up.
We spoke with a senior, Mike Romano, who says he went to high school with the teen. He never suspected he'd be capable of something like this.
"This campus does a lot of stuff to make sure kids are comfortable with where they're living," said Romano.
The documents also state police did find a blue folding knife covered in blood in the room.
Records show McMichael was sent to Lehigh County Jail on $500,000 bail.
