HAMBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- A pregnant woman and two children were found dead after a fire in Berks County.

The fire erupted just before midnight Saturday in the 400 block of South 4th Street in Hamburg, Pa.

Arriving crews had to call in help from surrounding companies to battle the blaze, finally getting the fire under control around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Inside, crews found the body of a woman who was six months pregnant.

A 5-year-old boy and his 2-year-old brother were also found dead inside.

Authorities say their father jumped out of a second floor window to escape the blaze. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Neighbors say they saw the fire from several streets away.

"We came out, and the whole house from the bottom, from the floor, all the way up from front to back was nothing but flames," said Ashley Neider.

Two dogs also perished in the fire.

There was no immediate word on a cause of this fire. Authorities have not released the names of the victims.

The house has been deemed a total loss.
