WEST GROVE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Chester County family was awakened early New Year's morning to the sound of their cars being smashed by a vandal.

A dash cam from one of the vehicles captured the suspect in action outside the family's home on West Baltimore Pike in West Grove Tuesday.

The family was able to chase the man off, but not before he damaged five vehicles.

"Yelling at him to stop. 'What are you doing? You're on private property, you shouldn't be here.' This is a quiet neighborhood. Nobody bothers anybody. We've been here 21 years and never had issues like this before," vandalism victim Aida Rosado said.

They say they don't recognize the suspect or know why they were targeted.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
