Video captures hit-and-run driver strike woman outside Philly shopping center

The woman was crossing Monument Road near the Wynnefield Heights Target when she was hit by a driver.

Video captures hit-and-run driver strike woman in crosswalk
Video obtained by Action News captured the moment the woman was hit by the driver of a silver sedan.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman was walking in the crosswalk when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver just outside of a Target in Philadelphia's Wynnefield Heights section.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday while the victim was crossing Monument Road to the parking lot of the shopping center.

Video obtained by Action News captured the moment the woman was hit by the driver of a silver sedan. Moments after the crash, you can see the driver speed off.

As the victim was lying on the road in pain, the video showed several cars driving around her.

An Action News photojournalist called 911 and tried to help the victim before she was taken to an area hospital.

While Action News was on the scene, Philadelphia officers never responded despite calling 911 several times.

The woman's condition was not immediately known.
